Jennifer and Jason‘s wedding took place at the Westin Georgetown in Washington D.C. The Westin is a gorgeous luxury hotel situated between the Dupont/foggy bottom area of the city and the main strip in Georgetown. The facilities are first rate and the location is wonderfully accessible. Jennifer and Jason‘s ceremony took place in the outdoor courtyard, adjacent to the promenade room, where they had their reception afterwards. Very early in the day it was cloudy and rainy, but I was really happy to see the skies clear up in time for their ceremony. Amidst abundant of sunshine and only a little bit of wind, the couple and their guests were able to enjoy an absolutely picturesque ceremony in the hotels courtyard. It was everything one would want for an early spring time wedding! Next it was inside for dinner and dancing. The hotel’s promenade room is bright and inviting, with towering columns and high ceilings.
The hotel’s coordinator for the wedding was named Tia, and I have to express my great appreciation for her assistance, and that of her truly amazing event staff. They were all cheerful and accommodating, and kept everything moving along with tremendous grace and professionalism.
For this event I provided the music and sound system for the ceremony out in the courtyard, along with clip-on mic’s for the officiant and the groom, and a wireless microphone for the reading of the seven blessings. My main sound system was set up for the reception/dancing, and because it was such a long room, I set up an additional remote speaker at the far end to make it easier for guests to hear the toasts and speeches. I also provided uplighting to line the area around the main dining table and light up the columns. Additional uplighting fixtures were placed in the dance area as well.
