My fondness for Waterford VA is well established, and Blue Hill Farm is one of the nicest wedding venues out that way. The owners are fantastic people who work very hard to make their farm a warm and inviting place for everyone involved. They have both outdoor and indoor spaces for the ceremony, and a big tent on the grounds for dinner. The carriage house is situated in between, and I got a thrill out of helping to light it up with color and movement for the reception!
Callie and Joel brought a great group of very enthusiastic friends who rocked the dance floor and celebrated in style. At the end they did a send off with sparklers ablaze.
For this event I brought out two sound systems, one for dinner in the tent and one for the reception. I provided a wireless handheld mic for toasts during dinner. For dancing, in addition to the sound system I set up a lighting truss over the DJ table with a variety of moving lights and wash lights. I also set up the uplighting system around the perimeter of the room. Finally, I added two vertical trusses with moving spots on top.
