Tinsley and Alex chose the Baltimore Museum of Industry as the location for both their wedding ceremony and their reception, and it’s a great choicThe main windows of the museum look out over the Baltimore harbor, which gave their ceremony a beautiful backdrop and lots of natural light. Later, during the reception, the harbor lights accented the night sky in the background as everyone kicked up their heels in celebration. I provided DJ services, Emcee services, two sound systems (one for the ceremony and reception, a second one set up further back in the facility for the happy hour), microphones (clip-on lavalier for the officiator, and a handheld wireless for announcements and toasts), and an uplighting package for the dance floor.
It was great working with the couple, who had lots of great ideas for the music they wanted to hear, as well as fun stuff like the shoe game that took place after the cake cutting. It was also GREAT to work with their wedding planners, Howerton+Wooten Events. Since I have been involved in providing services for weddings, I’ve noticed that events that use the services of a wedding planner tend to go a lot smoother. The couple is more relaxed, family members can concentrate on just having a good time, and the planners make sure that the schedule of events is maintained and updated. This was definitely the case with Howerton+Wooten, who provided some of the most professional, organized, and personally engaged coordinators that I have seen at a wedding event. They have a website, a page up on Facebook, and a page on The Knot. Definitely worth checking out!
