The couple and their families were some of the nicest people I’ve met in this business. I met with them at the venue, PJ Skidoos in Fairfax, several months before the event. We talked about the setup for the room and the songs that were important to them to have included on their wedding day.
PJ Skidoos has a great room downstairs for weddings and special events, and the staff is very courteous and professional. It’s easy to access as well from the entrance on the side of the building.
For this event I brought out two sound systems, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. I provided a wireless clip-on mic for the officiant, and music for the ceremony. I also provided a wireless handheld mic for toasts during dinner. For dancing, in addition to the sound system I set up a lighting truss over the DJ table with a variety of moving lights and wash lights. I also set up the uplighting system around the perimeter of the room.
