Shenandoah Lodge in Lake Charles is a lovely place to have a wedding reception, and that’s just what Sydni and Zack did in January of 2023. The facility is modern and well maintained, and also quite cozy. The couple’s ceremony and reception both took place inside the gorgeous Events Center on the main level. Guests enjoyed cocktails in the gallery area while the venue staff converted the Events Center from the ceremony setup to the reception setup. I was impressed with the venue staff, who managed a seamless flip of the space. They have really excellent event coordinators as well, who kept everything on schedule with poise and professionalism. They were a huge help to me as well! The venue had their accolades on display, and they have also been included in The Knot’s Best of Weddings. Well deserved! For this event, I provided the sound system for both the ceremony and reception, along with wireless microphones for both (clip-on for the officiant and the groom, and a handheld mic for toasts). I also provided the full lighting package, including uplighting and both dance floor lighting packages. I also prepared a special edit of the couple’s first dance song (something I’m more than happy to do and have done for several couples), which worked out well as they had worked out a really wonderful choreography for their dance together. They had an eclectic song selection for the reception as well, that blended together some contemporary songs, some 80’s retro, and a bunch of their favorite EDM tunes. Their processional and recessional songs were really inspiring too!
